SMSF data feeds: nothing to send us at year end

By easySMSF, SMSF Specialist Team · Updated

Your fund's bank, broker and exchange transactions reach us automatically through secure read-only feeds. For most funds that means no shoebox of statements in July — the accounts are already built.

New FY kickoff — 50% off SMSF setup (limited time)

Limited-time new financial year offer — 50% off Individual and Corporate Trustee setup fees. Ends midnight AEST, 30 September 2026.

Why the feed matters more than the fee

The traditional SMSF year runs backwards: nothing happens for twelve months, then the trustee spends a weekend hunting down bank statements, contract notes and dividend records so an accountant can rebuild a year of history. Data feeds remove that step. Transactions arrive as they happen, are coded through the year, and the financial statements are largely written before 30 June closes.

Feeds are read-only. They carry transaction and holding data in one direction and cannot move money, place trades or change your account settings. We prepare the feed authorities during onboarding and tell you which ones need a signature — usually a handful, once, at the start.

Coverage is broad but not universal. Where a provider doesn't offer a feed, we work from statements you upload, which is why a fund with a straightforward account set-up is cheaper to run than one spread across a dozen niche providers. Property, unlisted investments and anything held off-platform will always need documents from you, because no feed can see them.

The practical result is a fund that is auditable at any point in the year rather than only in hindsight — a breach of the in-house asset limit or a missed minimum pension payment shows up while there is still time to fix it.

  • Read-only feeds — no ability to trade, pay or withdraw
  • 150+ Australian banks, brokers, platforms and supported exchanges
  • Transactions coded through the year, not rebuilt each July
  • You still supply property, unlisted and contribution documents
  • Feed authorities prepared as part of onboarding
